6th Grade Mosaic Letter
Dear 6th grade parents,
Over the next month and a half, the 6th grade students are going to be working on a mosaic that will eventually be installed on the underpass between the Museum of Science and Industry and the lake. The artist for this project will be coming to Murray eight times during that time. When she comes to the school, she will be here for the entire day. In order for the students to work on the mosaic outside of fine arts, she will be taking students in groups of five out of their other classes.
It will be explained to the students that it is a privilege to help with this project outside of their other classes. If a student works on the mosaic during one of their other classes, they will still be responsible for any work they might have missed during that time.
I am very excited about this project since the students will be making something that they can view years and years after they leave Murray. Plus, it will be in a public space where anyone can enjoy their work. If there are any questions or concerns about this project, please email me at jkmills@cps.edu. Thanks.
