Welcome back! I am looking forward to another year as the intermediate fine arts teacher, computer teacher, and technology coordinator for Murray. In fine arts this year, I am once again going to have high expectations for students in my class. Like last year, fine arts for 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade grades will no longer be pass/fail. Students will be given an A, B, C, or F. Students will NOT be graded on their artistic talent. They will be graded on their effort and their ability to meet or exceed the fine arts standards. Rubrics for each project will be kept inside their sketchbooks in the fine arts room.
If students do not complete an assignment, a note will go home explaining the project they did not complete, and it will have to come back to me signed. And while every student in my class might not always think of themselves as great artists, everyone is expected to put in the effort to fully complete each project.
This year, I will also no longer be using SchoolNotes. Instead, I will be posting any relevant information about fine arts or technology weekly at this site. Thanks again for your continued support of the fine arts and technology program.
